Joseph Evans Reliable Pump 8x6½x9 No.30897

Installed new in 1938 in the daily products pump house as No.1 pump used for transfers of coal tar oils. Following closure in December 1985 the pump was sold and has since been fully restored. It is located at a private address in Pitsea, Essex.

Joseph Evans Vertical Ram Pump 5x4x5 No.43141B

One of a pair of vertical ram pumps installed in 1955 at the Phurnacite Smokeless Fuel works, Aberaman, Mountain Ash, South Wales for pumping milk of lime in the ammonia by-product plant. Following closure both were acquired in 1987 and the photo shows one pump unrestored at Westernzoyland. The other pump, No.43141A has been fully restored and runs regularly on compressed air at the Museum of Power, Langford, Essex.

Joseph Evans Vertical Ram Pump 5x4x5 No.37978

One of two vertical ram pumps installed in 1951 at the Nantgarw Coke works, Treforest, South Wales for pumping milk of lime in the ammonia by-product plant. Following closure the two pumps were acquired in 1987 and the photo shows No.37978 partially dismantled and unrestored at Westernzoyland. The second pump, No.37935 has been restored to full working order. It is presently on display at the Museum of Power, Langford, Essex.
